With the commission we hope this issues will be resolved once and for all to avoid such repetitive occurrences that have not only occurred to the gen z lead protests but also those before that which lead to destruction of property and loss of lives.
Here are some of the recommendations to the commission
1,A Protest Marshall Police Unit
The formation of a special protest friendly Marshall police unit not the old colonial Anti-riot police unit that is trained to deal with rioters and not picketers. They should be the only police unit deployed during protest not what we see currently where all units are deployed including plain clothes police. This will bring professionalism and will lift the quality of our demonstrations in the country to a world class level.
2,Demonstration squares
Formation of special demonstration squares and roads country wide to control protests just as the Nairobi women Rep had recommended this will help resolve the conflict of interest problem experienced between the business community and the demonstrators that lead to looting and panic to young ones in the estates this will help those not involved in the demos to go on with their daily businesses and life's as usual.
3,Digitalise submissions
Digitalise submission of petition and notices for demonstration. Like many sectors of our economy technology have largely taken over how things run and done and the government should incorporate technology in handling protest especially now that protest are largely organised online as evident with the GENZ lead protest.
4, A National Reconciliation
A National Reconciliation call through Compensation and justice for all victims of loss of lives, property ,injuries and human rights abuses and violations experienced during protest.
Finally we want to thank the government for responding to our petition and forming the commission of inquiry lets make kenya Great
